The author Jon Krakauer shares all his experience on climbing the Mount Everest. Climbing the Everest is all about struggling because of less oxygen and the amount of energy needed to climb it. Jon Krakauer climbed the Everest with some people from New Zealand and Australia, among them one was Rob Hall; a guide who guided the New Zealand climbers including the author Jon Krakauer. Climbing the Mount Everest is a really tough task. Doesn’t matter what you eat, there are lots of chances the climbers are going to be sick in the whole climbing trip. Through this trip Jon coughed a lot but when he got to the summit of the Mount Everest he felt so good that his sickness was gone.
On April 16 Jon and his team begin their real journey after resting for two days at the base camp. This is where they feel the thick air for the first time at 19,000 feet; they put their oxygen tanks on and go from there. Their first challenging goal was to get the rope hanging on the tower so they can climb up to the next camp. It took about three hours per person to climb up to the tower because climbers had to rest for ten minutes every half an hour on the rope just to store some energy to climb more up. At nine a.m. in the morning Jon and his team finally reached camp one. Sirdar a person at camp one set up all the platforms for tents in the frozen snow, he is a 29 year old person and has a lot of strength to do this work. On 23,000 feet at noon everyone heard Rob Hall’s voice on the walkie-talkie said “we are getting out of here!” as it was blizzard time and that’s where they got down to the camp not able to climb in the blizzard.
At 1:25 P.M. at twenty-nine thousand twenty eight feet, Neal Beidleman and his client Martin Adams were the first ones to reach the summit. Then everyone started to reach the summit recently after them. Beidleman was concerned about the other guides that were missing and one of the guides was Fischer who was expected to reach the summit. When Jon came down the base camp at two hundred and fifty feet his tears were coming out of his eyes and were hugging his friend Mackenzie because they couldn’t believe that they made it back from the summit of the Mount Everest. Jon cried so much because he felt so terrible for those who never survived the weather and died. For those who survived, were helicoptered from the site and were hospitalized for a need of recovery. When Jon came down he met a Japanese Everest experienced men and were introduced themselves; Jon were asked questions about his trip to the Mount Everest.
Task of Mount Everest is really hard to go through because of less oxygen and all the pressure on your body makes it difficult. When the survivors came down to the base of the Mount Everest, they had their best feeling of their life. All the Climbers put so much effort to climb from one camp to another that they had to rest at least one day each time they climb that much distance. All Jon Krakauer is trying to say is that when you make a rite decision and you become successful in it then you should feel amazing in what you have done.
